How kaski sounds
A research page, not the game. Every sound here is made in the browser from licensed recordings and generated data; each part can be switched off and set beside a plainer way of doing the same thing. Nothing in the crates makes a sound yet.
The yard: a sound made in the world, heard by who is near
The shaded house is timber with a closed door. Aino and Toivo are yours, Kerttu is not. Pick what the world does, then click the yard to do it there; the camera is the diamond. A sound plays only if one of your own beings hears it, and the caption says what it was and what stood between. Wind and fire are ambient and play everywhere.

Effects: shaped by the cause, beside the same recordings plain
What each costs per voice, measured here
Ambience: wind and fire
Music: MIDI played by light sampled instruments, following the hour, and a villager's song carried on
Move the distance below 22 m and the score glides to Aino's tempo, takes a short breath so its next beat is hers, plays her melody itself, and gives it to her own voice as you come near. Move away and it goes back the same way. Her song never stops and is never faded for another.
Speech: a tongue's own sound, turning to words as it is learned
The tongues, as generated
Tests
The same tests the harness runs, here in your browser. Each renders audio offline and measures it; a control is a deliberately broken variant that has to fail the same check.
