Ways to draw a sward

Grass and reeds laid over the painted ground seven ways, side by side over the same patch, at the game's own pixels or four times as large, at noon or at dusk, still or in a gust, with a villager walking through. Every frame is drawn live in this page by the rasteriser beside it, in the painted look, by the wind of kaski-wind. A frame takes a few seconds to draw; nothing is pre-rendered. The choice between the ways is op's; the notes beside this page say what each gives and costs.

The switch of each way: click a picture to turn its drawing off (the painted ground alone shows in its place) and again to turn it on. far says what carries the sward past the last blade: the painted ground as it is (plain), repainted to carry the sward's mean light and colour (matched), and moved by the wind as well (medium).

What each costs

Counts are exact. Milliseconds are of this page's JavaScript on the machines named, a software geometry pass at the viewport's pixels and no GPU: a relative cost of the ways, not what the game's frame costs and not the bench. See NOTES.md.
